INSEAD
The Problem/
Challenges/Opportunities
INSEAD, in partnership with Citigroup, is launching
the Financial Education Exchange (FinEdx), an online
learning hub and e-learning system to serve the
financial education community in Asia Pacific. This
social initiative is targeted at Asian not for profit
leaders whom mostly have little information technology
skills and/or has limited or no access to broadband
internet. Therefore, a flexible, user friendly and cost
effective solution that simultaneously allows effective
learning for the end-users is imperative.
The FinEdx portal requires easy and effective
management of online courses and end-users, as well as
of currents news and information from the financial
education industry. End-users will be able to browse
resource libraries with downloadable information in
various formats, view video clips of classroom lectures,
take online assessments, and participate in online
discussion forums.
Our Recommendation(s)

To assist in reaching these objectives, Knowledge
Director (KD) proposed the implementation of Microsoft’s
Learning Gateway (MLG) solution integrated with KD’s
rapid content authoring tool, learningDIRECTOR™ and
Microsoft’s Class Server® to serve as the FinEdx
portal’s core learning platform. MLG has been proven
through implementations in countries across the world to
provide organizations and governments with a highly
scalable, efficient, and cost-effective learning
platform.
MLG seamlessly integrates core learning technologies
like a Learning Management System (LMS) and content
authoring tools, with learning content as well as
collaborative learning tools like virtual classrooms and
chats. MLG is especially suited for FinEdx because it
has been proven as a solution that can evolve as an
organization’s needs change.
MLG is a flexible, cost-effective solution that
enables ‘best of breed’ products to be seamlessly
integrated.
